Nicole's heaven
Today on the Martha Stewart Show, it's knitting & crochet day. The whole audience is knitting during the show. The piece de resistance....yarn made from your dog's hair. EEEWWWW! Martha is knitting a muffler for one of her dogs from the hair from another dog. I'm all into reduce, reuse, recycle, but I have to draw the line here. This is disgusting. Nicole, if you ever knit something from B or Copper's fur, I just might hurl.
Baby steps
Navarre took a half a step today. I wouldn't call it a whole step, but a half step...soon she'll be running!
We have also confirmed our child care for September!!!!! I'm so happy with the woman who will be looking after her; I feel so comfortable with our choice. Now the Portage in the Sportage '08 can begin!!!!

She's a dancin', dancin', dancin', dancin' machine
Saturday was Shaina's birthday. We went up to New Glasgow for the night and had a great time...

I am happy to report that the annual Shaina dance-off continued with 2 numbers and a guest appearance by Ben, or also known as Ben-Jammin'. Shaina's hip hop routine was a classic in her "ghetto shirt". Ben's guest appearance in the Dixie Chicks dance was priceless. Even though Ben had some super cool moves, I would suggest some classes...yea
Just prior to this dancing interlude, I discovered my third life lesson. I'd like to take credit for this one, but I cannot. Shaina, the newest member of the 31 club, came up with this fine piece of wisdom.
Life Lesson #3: "Practice rounds are for pussies."
Thinking back to all the times someone says, "Let's just do the first round for practice," I totally agree with this.
Today is Father's Day, so I want to give a shout out to my Dad - best Dad south of the Mason-Dixon Line, and to Jamie - Navarre's rad Dad. You're the best:)

Leslie's Life Lessons
#1: Always pack a swimsuit...even if you're travelling for a funeral. You never know when an opportunity will present itself.
#2: If you are ever in an airport and your flight is listed on the board as "On Time", but there is no gate number assigned to it, haul ass to the Service Center and inquire.

Swirling, swirling
My head is swirling. Navarre and I had our big trip home from May 26-June 3rd. We had a great time; we both got sick. LSU won the Regional and subsequently the Super Regional for a trip to Omaha. My Paw-Paw passed away on June 5th. It wasn't unexpected, but still upsetting. So, I headed back on June 6th and returned to Hali yesterday.
Navarre didn't make the second trip with me. She wasn't quite 100% yet, and I was too sick to make that trip with her again...it's a long trip for her. Nicole and T drove in for the weekend. It was nice seeing the extended family, but wish it could have been under better circumstances.
Now, I've got a priority list of things that have to get done before the big Portage in the Sportage '08. First on that list is finding child care for September. We had this all squared away, and then the (there are not enough vulgar cuss words in the book for me to describe how I feel about this woman now) woman backed out on us. So, that's #1. A couple of gift projects is #2. Then all of the house/financial/appointment stuff to do before we leave.
Not much time for blogging, but will try to keep posting....
