Goodbye Poo

If anyone has talked to Navarre on the phone in the past few weeks, you'll know that every conversation ends with "Goodbye, Poo." Her fascination with all things excrement is in full swing. She's doing great on the potty, and I guess the trade off is references to Poo all day. That's fine - I'll make that trade.

I guess I should back up some...About a week after Jay was born, Mom came up to visit for 3 weeks. We didn't do much, but had a great time. She helped us immensely, and Navarre got some much needed attention so that we could focus on the new baby. There was the Family fun Fair for Canada Day and homemade beignets for 4th of July. We played in the pool on the deck, did a little shopping, went out to eat a couple of times and that was about it, but we had a great time.
We said "Goodbye Poo" to Paw-Paw, Auntie and Caroline today. They've been here for a week, and it was a fun, chaotic week to say the least. Having 3 children in the house under the age of 3 is quite the experience. I don't recommend it without liquor, burning stuff outside or window AC units in the bedroom so you can't hear other children crying or fussing or anyone doing anything else. They arrived about a week after Mom left. Dad helped with cutting down dead trees in the yard and painting; Nicole helped coral the kids and got a new wardrobe for Caroline; Jamie helped with all of the above and smoked cigars, burned stuff and drank Crown with Dad. All in all it was a great visit.

Jay is doing really well. He is a great baby. He has regressed a bit at night with his sleep. I was getting more sleep than I am now, but all in all he's great. He's much more mellow than Navarre was at this age. He's 6 weeks old now, and I can't believe that much time has passed already.
