It was a Good Friday

We started our Easter weekend on Good Friday dyeing Easter eggs, like we've done at Nanny's every year. I love it. I don't know why, but I absolutely love it. I've done it every year I've lived in Halifax. We missed Shaina this year. She usually joined us when we both lived near each other. She totally shared in my enthusiasm for the food coloring, water and eggs. Jamie always colors eggs with me and fakes his enthusiasm the entire time, which I completely appreciate and love.
This year we had Team Currie over. I was utterly shocked to learn Shelly had never done this. She was, hold your breath, a dyeing egg virgin. I figured this would be something that small town Nova Scotians reveled in growing up - apparently not. So, Shelly and Huddy have now experienced Good Friday - tuna fish with speckled eggs and all.

The kids did pretty good. The toughest part was getting them not to put more than one egg in the cup at a time and getting them to not put the eggs back into color after we had put them in the trays to dry. All in all they did a wonderful job, and we had a blast!
